Networking Committee

Here's some information about this committee:

·         Contact 5 recruiters and establish a relationship while collecting leads.

·         Work with PSG members providing leadership and confidence while guiding them to prepare lists of contacts they can network with.

·         Acquaint members with other networking groups.

·         Follow-up with landed individuals as a networking resource.

·         Maintain a database of available [public] resources. Seek out and post Job Fairs and coordinate with the Computer/Admin Committee.

Charter of Operation

Organization:

Chairperson – Conducts formal meetings, reconciles all issues in the committee, presents the Committee report to the Moderator, Convenes and chairs all Committee Principal meetings.

Leader –Serves as 2nd in authority for activities in the committee assuming the Chairperson duties when necessary.  Presents the committee report to the PSG group, plans and executes the committee activities.  Ensures the objectives of the committee are planned and executed to achieve maximum fulfillment.

Administrator – Serves as 3rd in authority.  Records and Collects information relative to members’ activities and participation within the group such as the committee Roster, attendance and committee tasks.

Members – Serve to participate and execute activities agreed to by the committee to advance the purpose of the group.

Scope of Operation:

The scope of the Networking Review Committee shall be to aid and assist, formulate and disseminate information to the PSG group members and provide leads to Jobs through networking.  The Networking Review Committee shall interact with other Network organizations.  The Networking Review Committee will provide assistance to PSG members on a voluntary basis.  Additionally the organization of Networking programs and instruction to facilitate Networking shall be within the scope of the Networking Review Committee,  This scope shall include responding to inquiries from other organizations and professionals for information that will assist our membership in meeting its objectives.

Purpose:

The purpose of the Networking Review Committee is to:

·         Help PSG members develop an effective Network and hone the networking skill.

·         Mentor PSG member development of a networking grid and motivate individual PSG members to development of a contact list.

·         Provide assistance and counseling about network techniques and follow-up.

·         Develop a refined methodology that can be transcribed as a guide to assist PSG members.

·         Serve as a catalyst to encourage networking and demonstrate to PSG members how to effectively network.  

·         Maintain a list of network contacts available to PSG members.  E.g. agencies, Company contacts.

·         Initiate programs that will entice members to participate in Networking activities to procure a job.

·         Report on the progress and effectiveness of networking within the PSG group to PSG membership.

Objective:

The objective of the Networking Review Committee is to:

·         Develop a program and regiment that will encourage networking by PSG members and motivate the PSG members to practice the program in seeking Job opportunities.

Plan:

·         PSG Networking Review Committee members will contact 5 recruiters and establish a relationship while collecting leads.  This will be an assignment to group members as well.

·         Work with PSG members providing leadership and confidence while guiding them to prepare lists of contacts they can network with.  The Networking Presentation outline shall be used as a guide.

·         Acquaint members with other networking groups.

·         Make progress report of activities and initiatives to the PSG group.

·         The Principals at their first meeting shall review and revise this document.

Meetings:

Networking Committee shall meet semi-monthly on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month.

The Agenda shall be: Attendance, Old business, welcome of new committee members, Review of networking assignments and new assignments, Communication of networking information received, Other Membership activities, Plans for next meeting, Summary, Dismissal.

Networking Committee Principals shall meet as determined at least monthly.

Principals shall discuss and review plans, progress, reports and address member activities, events, initiatives, document or charter changes, personnel and assignments.

Reports:

A monthly report shall include a summarization of Findings, Actions , Adherence to plans, accomplishments and Plans.

Communication of Networking leads shall be made via the PSG Group e-mail.

Comment:

The Principals and membership shall periodically review this outline and make affirmations and modifications on a semi-annual basis.
